Salary for any job depends on lot of factors. How one negotiates is a key factor.

I have a situation here....i travel a lot due to a contracting job and take my family with me...we shift every 6 months once...due to this we had to face a lot of hassle in receiving fp notice and ap,ead etc...is it ok for us to use a p.o box address?so that i can get my mails every week whereever i am.....please advice...looking forward to your replies....

The highlighted statement doesn't seem to be correct. You can have more than one employer file an H-1B petiton for you.
Until the time you left your university employer, you were in status with the original H-1B (cap exempt).
Now, you need to either get the job back at the university, or ask the consultant outfit (A) to employ you.
Could you state the reason given my USCIS for denying the H-1B petition filed by consultant (B)?
Also, I would refrain from using the word "transfer", as there is no such thing. It is always a new petition, with request to not count it in the yearly cap.
Get a good attorney to solve this issue as practically speaking, you were out of status from period of 2006-2008 as your Company A's Approval overrided your university H1.

Say today my I-140 is denied.
Current H1B is getting renewals due to labor pending for more than 1 year, so getting 1 year renewals.
Now I-140 is denied.
Lawyer is opening an MTR.
We dont know when the decision will come. May be positive, may be negative.
1.What happens to my current H1B which is due for renewal in Mar 2011. Can I continue to work, while MTR is pending.
2. Can I get extensions while MTR is pending.
3. If I get extension based on pending MTR, What happens to extended H1B if MTR says I-140 denied.

Your case is prior to me in terms of PD. Almost all my 2004 friends are approved. While I am approved but no cards becoz of biometrics issue...wife's is still pending.
Are you a transfered case too? Did you take any infopass apt etc what did u learn.
I am not sure what more I can do to help move my wife's case...I am one of the extremely rare half approval cases...almost everyone I know of all the dependents got approved with the primary applicant.

While I understand that there is legal limit on number of times AC21 can be invoked assuming it for similar job transfer, but I was wondering if some one on this forum has changed job multiple times after 180 days of 485 filing.
My husband recently changed companies for same job profile after 180 days of filing 485 and having I140 approved, but now job is not what he initially expected (in fact lot different in terms of work and responsibility) , so he is now on lookout for another change in same profile.
His title in both jobs is Sr Software Engineer.
He is the primary applicant, and has 3 three years of H1-B extension. Is there any chances for RFE? His lawyer at current company did send AC21 letter to USCIS.

If you are in the same job for the same employer and are performing your 40 hours , it's better to be on that H1-B or AOS(EAD) status. This might not be possible in every university and or every graduate program but some of them have evening classes mostly. so you just get into your program and take classes but your status is H1-B or EAD (some universities even consider you domestic or instate for tuition purposes if you were working in that state for more tan year prior to begining the program.
AOS in that case is not jeopardised. I am in your exact situation, and this is what I understand. Always consult your attorney before you proceed.

Go to websites such as ZAZONA.com and numbersusa.com and check out their arguments that they use to oppose H1b and EB-greencards. You are saying the same thing and feeding into those arguments by using the word "Slavery".
And by the way, regarding public opinion, remember that immigration(legal or illegal) is issue number 5 or 6 after economy, healthcare, Iraq, security, deficits etc. etc.
Public opinion is not going to care about 350,000 H1bs in line for GC. But still, getting overall media attention is good for our cause and I urge you to write letters to the editors of NYT, LA times, Time mag, Newsweek. etc etc. like you suggested. But there is not POINT IN BEING RHETORICAL or SARCASTIC.

My wife called VFS in New Delhi and they said it is normal procedure for them to keep the originals and mail them back with the passport. We will see how it goes.
