No disrespect but , 400$ biweekly seems ok to me ...It depends on how you are employed , If you are working on percentage basis then companies may charge full insurance to you , If you are employed its a different case .
IMO, 400$ biweekly is 800$ per month which is too much, not only he is charging full insurance (which could be ok if you are on percentage basis) he is pocketing some money. If the employee comes out of his employers insurance and take an insurance of his own, he would be paying less.
Well if the employee is in his old age, it is a different story, I am assuming that the employee is below 40 years of age.

An alert reader sent me the following this morning. Miriam Jordan of the WSJ is reporting
Looking to resolve a messy immigration tangle, the U.S. government is close to announcing that it will accept at least some applications for work-based green cards that were filed by thousands of skilled workers in early July at the government's invitation and then abruptly rejected.
This would be hugely disappointing news if true and, according to a source, this was NOT the deal on the table over the weekend. It also will fail to address the three crises facing USCIS:
- fighting multiple lawsuits including at least two class action matters
- staving off congressional hearings and the release of embarrassing documents
- answering press inquiries over why USCIS skipped security clearances during a time when the US is under threat of a major terrorist attack
One would hope that common sense would outweigh USCIS' anti-immigrant instincts. Like an addict that's out of control, it's time for an intervention.

2) We are expecting a baby girl in March (who will be born American in Atlanta) and was wondering whether or not she could sponsored us (on our request being their parents and she would only be an infant), so that we could stay legally and request the Green Cards Family Based?

Why people ask dumb questions. For me most of these questions are dumb and answers are obvious.
Easy on the guy pal! I am sure he would not have come here to seek help if the answers were so obvious to him.
unseenguy, A lot of companies all across the country are resorting to pay cuts and there is no guarantee that the job will remain either. Mine announced 5% cuts and cut other benefits that had made working in this company attractive.
I am sorry to hear about the job loss already in your household. Here is my suggestion....Do keep a lookout for better opportunities but try to get your wife a job before you change yours. Invoking AC21 is a option but use it only if you find a better opportunity or at least better stability. I know it is a cliche but hang in there and know that there are a lot of families all across this country who are in similar or worse situations. All the best and please fill in your details like PD and GC processing stage.

I have e-filed along with spouse new SSN#..no issues...
When we sent cancel letter for ITIN,got a reply confirmation from IRS saying us to use ssn# for federal tax filing and we have revoked your ITIN..

all your points look ok to me. although it may differ for different prople.
in my case - i have an EAD. but cant use it. i had to stay on H1B to make my spouse's stay valid which is H4. i see the following as a comparision. guys pl feel free to throw ur inputs.
EAD
- ability to switch jobs as nessary - you decide
- AP to easy your life when you want to fly out and come back
( no hassle stamping tention etc, but comes with yearly price )
- of couse the important thing is your spouse can work
- need to stick with same designation
H1B:
- no hassles if you are within 6 year period. everything starts when its about to expire and you jump into GC train
[ you have to jump if you decide to stay more than 6 years. no option here, i guess ]
- same as EAD jumping jobs is easy, also can climb up the ladder
- if above 6 year limit and I-140 not approved, you get only yearly exentions

1. You said you entered US in 12/06 with PP expiring 5/07......if PP has an expiry date of <180 days, the Immigration guy in India normally should not allow you to board the flight.
2. The last issued I-94 is the valid I-94.
3. Your logical option would be to talk to an Immigration Officer in your local USCIS office and do whatever he/she suggests. There are a couple of posts which talk about potential solutions, please research them.

I went back to my home country in 02 in an emergency situation and didn't submit my I-94 as well. No questions asked when I got back. Moreover, no issues/questions when I went back again in 05 and came back to the US. I didn't send anything to the USCIS. Not sure whether it affects naturalization or not but so far so good on my 485.

When I came back, at the POE(Newark)I was not asked any questions, and they issued me a new I-94. Yesterday someone told me that this could potentially affect my I-485 adversely OR whenever I travel to my home country again, they might cause problems during my re-entry. Just wanted to know what should be my action plan.
Should I correct the records with USCIS, by sending them the I-94(Along with proof that I went to my home country).
OR should I just say quiet and forget about this mistake?

Isn't there something called I-9 also that has to be maintained by the local HR?
So basically the HR should pocess copies of the latest visa/I-797, I-94, LCA/I-129 and I-9?
Correct / add if anything is missed. This is important for people who work in facilities other than corporate headquarters also where the files will primarily be maintained at the corp headquarters.
